How it works

One gesture you already know.

WindowHop answers the same ⌘Tab as the Mac, but it lists windows instead of apps. The window you used last is already selected.

  1. Hold ⌘

    Keep the Command key down, as you do for Apple’s app switcher.

  2. Press Tab

    Every window gets its own tile. Press Tab again, or an arrow key, to move.

  3. Release

    You land on that exact window, also on another Space or another display.

The real app

Large app icons or live previews.

Choose the look in Settings. Both follow your Mac’s Light or Dark appearance, as these screenshots do.

Keyboard first

⌘Tab to switch, ⌥Tab for a switcher that stays open, arrow keys to move. You choose both shortcuts.

Every Space and display

Windows on other Spaces and displays are included. Minimized windows, hidden apps and Picture in Picture are optional.

Native look

System fonts, Light and Dark appearance, and a clear selection. Nothing to theme and nothing to learn.

One tile per window

Three browser windows are three tiles. A window with ten tabs is still one tile.

Larger preview

Stay on one window for a moment to see a bigger picture of it, without moving the real window.

Safe and private by design

If WindowHop is not running, ⌘Tab works as it always did. Nothing leaves your Mac except the update check.

Settings

Good defaults. Few choices.

Settings has four short panes. Pick the style, the windows to include and the display the switcher opens on. Restore Defaults puts everything back.

For macOS 26 or later on Apple Silicon Macs. Signed with Developer ID, notarized by Apple, and delivered as a disk image you drag to Applications.
